Amamoor Lodge Workshops – General Information

Amamoor Lodge partners with visual artists to provide overnight and weekend activity retreats.  Each workshop includes at least nine hours of tutored activity and there is also time to relax and enjoy the beautiful setting and facilities.

What is included? All meals and accommodation are included in your package so all you have to be concerned with is getting to the table at meal times and to the workshops to participate and learn. All programmes include nine hours of workshop sessions.

What size are the workshop groups? Classes are small – generally from four to eight participants. This allows tutors to provide individual as well as group tuition and to adjust the programme to suit the group.

Do I need prior experience? Unless indicated otherwise, you need to be enthusiastic, willing to work and to learn. The workshops are a great way to try new activities, enhance your existing skills or just get going again if you have taken a break from your art. The individual workshop details indicate if any particular prior experience or knowledge is needed.

Do I need anything else? Photography workshops require you to bring your camera (and other equipment if indicated) and the art workshop descriptions indicate where materials are provided and where you will need to bring some of your own. If you need us to provide all art materials (travelling inter-state or from over-seas) let us know and we can organise this for you.

For art you may want to bring an apron or smock – we have easels and tables, but you aer welcome to bring your own easel and equipment if you prefer.

All food is provided along with bedding and towels. We provide tea and coffee. You are welcome to bring other drinks (BYO) or if you forget or run out we do have a small supply of wine, beer and soft drinks for sale.

Where are the workshops held? Workshops are held in the Lodge and outdoors for painting and drawing – moving from the paddocks and gardens to under cover (in the open shed) as appropriate. Similarly photography assignments may be completed in and around the Lodge. For artist talks or photography lectures needing a large screen or access to books etc. the class may move to the communal lounge for these sessions.

Are there additional costs? Each workshop is priced individually and based on participants sharing a room (twin single or double for a couple sharing a bed). All rooms have reverse cycle AC, ensuite bathroom, bar fridge, kettle and TV. If a guaranteed private /single room is required there is a supplement of $50 per night.

Workshop cost – see individual workshop details (all prices are twin share / double rooms)

Guaranteed single room – one night mid-week add $50 or two night / weekend add $100

Non-participating partner (sharing your room)

– one night mid-week $165 (early bird $145) for dinner, B&B and lunch

– two night / weekend $270 (early bird $245) for two nights dinner, B&B and one lunch

Anything else?  Amamoor Lodge is the perfect place to relax or to use as a base for activities.  You may want to arrive early or stay an extra day (or more) to enjoy the property, continue your art or explore the area.  We offer special rates for additional nights.  If you have a partner who wants the get away without the workshop they are welcome to accompany you at the reduced non-participating rate.  Let us know their interests and we will provide suggestion of alternate activities, places to visit and corners where they can sit and do their own thing.

Limited numbers for each workshop and minimum number of participants are required
