Conservation

Following consideration of the importance of environmental sustainability and a commitment to be a benefit to the Mary Valley community, Amamoor Lodge is committed to strive to achieve environmental and social sustainability for the Bed & Breakfast and Studio Apartments, and fifty acres surrounding it.

Amamoor Lodge near Gympie on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, is a registered Land for Wildlife Property. Land for Wildlife (LFW) is a unique, voluntary program which encourages private land holders to manage land with existing wildlife habitat, and to re-establish habitat through revegetation and restoration projects. Land for wildlifeThe LFW program operates with assistance and cooperation of the Federal Government, Greening Australia and local governments.

Amamoor Lodge has approximately 6 ha of good quality remnant rainforest as well as eucalypt forest. Endangered trees can be seen on the rainforest bush walk.  Close to 1000 native trees have been recently planted for a koala corridor to link habitats.
