Amamoor Lodge Workshops Expressive Drawing Workshop with KERRY Wilson

These expressive drawing workshops will take the natural world as subject for mixed media drawings. Stimulating gestural mark-making exercises are combined with a more sustained approach to layering in drawing. Explore a variety of media such as charcoal, pastel, gesso, shellac and ink, on a variety of papers to create an engaging series of drawings. Working both outdoors and in the studio you will discover ways of seeing, creating, expressing and just how liberating drawing can be.

Kerry Wilson – Artist Profile

The artwork of Kerry Wilson focuses on contemporary Australian landscape. Painting and drawing in a variety of media is explored “en plein air” and in the studio.   Whether it is a scene, view or native flora, the natural world provides much inspiration.  The play of brilliant sunlight and shadows or the nebulous, soft light of early morning both offer intriguing mood and subject matter.   An art teacher for over 20 years, Kerry is passionate about drawing and painting. With the immediacy and excitement of the mark, drawing is a natural means of self-expression.   Since moving to the Sunshine Coast two years ago, Kerry has been drawn to mountains like Mt Ninderry, near where she lives. The natural world continues to inform her work.
